My Life in Japan.
The Working Holiday Visa program allowed me to live and work in Japan. My experiences gave me a strong sense of the Japanese society, and witnessing the culture as a local gave me an authentic perspective unseen by tourists.
Global Leadership
As an aspiring global leader and as someone who loves teaching, I wanted to find an opportunity to develop both skills.
My role as a Global English Leader for LbE Global Japan was exactly that. While mentoring young Japanese students in English, I was able to enrich their global perspective through programs across Kansai. It was an endearing experience that helped me contribute to Japanese society while making valuable memories.

Exchanging Languages
During my stay in Japan, I enrolled in a Japanese Language School after having self-taught myself Japanese for a number of years. This solidified my writing and speaking skills while giving me the opportunity to connect with other foreign students from around the world.
While learning a language, I also chose to teach a language. As a private English teacher in Kyoto, I enjoyed helping others with their English journey. At the same time, I was able to develop relationships with locals and learn about everyday life in Japan.
Exploring Japan
In-between working and learning Japanese, I travelled across the country for my own cultural enrichment.
From trekking the Nakasendō between Nagano and Gifu, to hiking Mt. Misen in Miyajima and to journeying to the Nachi Waterfall in Wakayama, I was able to experience the quieter and more traditional side of Japan. As a travel photographer, documenting these sites are an important way for me to share and remember these places.
